New Dazzle version 1.14.01

February 4th, 2011

Dazzle v1.14.01 was rolled out. For a list of new features and changes read this.

February 11th. 2011.

v1.14.01 was tweaked just a little.

We added a checkbox that lets UK users flag "old" UK loans so they don't get calculated under the new laws.
  • We added VAT processing to buybacks in the UK, and incorporated then into the VAT report.
  • We expanded the item descriptions in the BWI xml output files.
  • We improved the Cost-Averaging calculations on Pulls and Unpulls.
  • We fixed the customer lookup by SSN which had gotten broken.
  • We fixed the "renew loan up-to-date" option which was calculating the wrong no. of months.
  • We repaired the "loan summary report" and the UK "Loan Sales screen"

The version no. was not changed.

Tickets or Contracts don't print right

If text does not seem to fit properly on your tickets or contracts, or if they seem too big and won't fit on one page, you may not have the right fonts installed.
Download our Dazzle fonts package from here and save it to your desktop. (Password required) Then click on it to run it and install all the correct fonts. Sometimes you have to temporarily switch off your anti-virus software to install fonts.
This will usually solve ticket/contract problems.

Fingerprint Readers or ID Scanners stop working

If your Fingerprint Readers or ID Scanners seem to stop working after a while, and you need to reboot to "get them back", don't blame Dazzle. What happens is - the USB ports on computers "go to sleep" to save power. You need to turn off this feature.

Right-click My-Computer(XP) or Computer(Vista or 7), and select Properties.
If you don't see Device Manager, Click Hardware
Open device manager.
Look for Universal Serial Bus and double-click it to open it up.
Look for the USB root hubs.
Double-click each one.
Select the Power Management tab
Clear the box that says "allow computer to turn this device off to conserve power"
Do this for all USB root hubs.

Note that some older computers do not properly manage the USB ports in standby, and if that is the case this won't help. You can try a BIOS update for your computer which may fix it.Also make sure your computer itself isn't set to go to sleep or standby modes
